The Abhishiktananda Society was registered in 1978.

Its aims include "to make known the spiritual message of the late Swami Abhishiktananda and to coordinate the efforts of those interested in it and in its further implications", "to edit and hold the copyright of the writings of the late Swamiji - without prejudice to other rightful claims", "to publish other literature and periodicals on subjects related to the message of Swami Abhishiktananda", "to arrange and conduct seminars, conferences and lectures, and to provide opportunities for research related to Swami Abhishiktananda's work".
